Queridos sambateadores! Dear Tap Dancers!
Mais um ano está terminando, e já estamos pensando em
começar 2009 com muito sapateado. Another Year is ending
and we are already thinking about beginning 2009 with a lot
of tap dancing. Os interessados poderão entrar em contato
diretamente comigo CHRISTIANE MATALLO (diretora da ala)
para maiores detalhes. Those of you who are interested in
participating should be in direct contact with Christiane
Matallo, the director of the line, for more details. O
desfile da Escola Mocidade Alegre será dia 21 de fevereiro
no sambódromo de São Paulo no Anhembi. The Mocidade Alegre
samba school will perform on February 21st in the Sao Paulo
Sambadrome in Anhembi. Por volta da 1h da manhã. To begin
at 1am. Abaixo seguem as primeiras informações importantes.
Below includes important information that you should read
first.
OBS = Os participantes interessados devem ter um nível
intermediário de sapateado americano.
ALL Interested participants should be a minimum solid
Intermediate level according to tap dance here in the US.

MONTAGEM E ENSAIOS - Schedule of Rehearsals
Início da montagem dia 9 de janeiro (sexta-feira) das 18h30
às 21h. The first rehearsal will begin on Friday, January
9th from 6:30pm-9pm
Local: Studio de Dança Christiane Matallo em novo endereço
(av. dr Heitor Penteado 715, Taquaral, na frente da Lagoa
do Taquaral próximo a entrada dos campos de futebol, da
Localiza e do Lanches Paladar, Campinas). Fone: (19)
3241-2111. Located at the Christiane Matallo Dance Studio
at a new address as above. It is in front of the Lake
Taquaral and next to the entrance for the soccer fields in
the same location of Launches Paladar.
Obs: Faremos a montagem e ensaios aos finais de semana,
sempre no final das tardes de sextas feiras, e na parte da
manhã e tarde aos sábados e domingos. Teremos uma certa
flexibilidade por se tratar de férias de verão, desde de
que tudo seja combinado e avisado com antecedência a
diretora da ala. We will have a rehearsals on weekends
that will always begin on Friday evenings and part of the
morning and afternoon on saturdays and sundays. There will
be some flexibility with some summer holidays, as long as
you are collaborating with the director and being in clear
communication with her prior to any conflicts.

You should already go to see the decorations for this
year's carnaval as well as the costumes for this year's tap
group. The music which you must learn and sing while
dancing are ready for you to hear at the link just above.
You must be able to learn choreography off of a CD and
perform it with precision to be included in this
experience. Due to the fact that Brazilian Carnaval is one
of the biggest competitions in the world, Christiane
reserves the right to deny anyone who does not meet proper
requirements (i.e. not knowing the words to theme song, not
being able to properly perform choreography while moving in
a formation, losing a part of your costume to name a few).

ENSAIOS TÉCNICOS
Os ensaios técnicos acontecem em São Paulo na própria
escola Mocidade Alegre e posteriormente no sambódromo. São
aproximadamente de 3 a 4 no total. Não temos ainda as datas
definidas. The technical rehearsals will happen in Sao
Paulo at the school Mocidade Alegre and also in back of the
Sambadrome. We don't have the exact dates on this yet. Stay
tuned for more information.

FANTASIA
A fantasia foi desenhada e criada pela equipe carnavalesca
da agremiação Mocidade Alegre. A confecção será feita em
Campinas sob a coordenação da própria escola Mocidade
Alegre. As medidas serão tiradas no dia 9 de janeiro de
2009 para a confecção no corpo de cada um. A foto da
fantasia feminina segue anexo (em baixa resolução). A
masculina será substituída por calça. The costumes were
designed and created to fit this year's theme for Mocidade
Alegre. They are handmade in Campinas and are directly
coordinated with the school. The photo of the costume is
included below, or you can request for us to send it to you
via e-mail if you can not view it below. The men's costumes
are substituted with pants.
O valor da fantasia é de R$ 400 (divididos em 4 parcelas
com cheques pré-datados para dias 15/11, 15/12, 15/01 e
05/02). The price of the costume is a total of $400
brasilian Reals, but you can check the current exchange
rate to see how much it will be in dollars at the time of
your payments. You can make your payment at one time, or
you can divide it up into payments if needed.
O depósito da 1 ª parcela deverá ser feito no banco

conta- corrente: 01026440-6 no dia 15 de novembro. O valor
à vista não terá desconto.

Após o término do depósito, favor enviar o comprovante por

contatos, não serão aceitos. Caso haja desistência após a
confirmação e efetuada a 1ª parcela da fantasia, em
HIPÓTESE ALGUMA haverá devolução de valores.

with your complete name and all of your contact
information. Those that do not follow up with the proper
information can not be guaranteed a costume or a
performance spot.
