Okay, This has to be some kind of record! 4 newsletters in
1 month!!! TAP is definitely treating us well!
The 4th Annual Chicago TAP Summit is fast approaching! This
year's summit will be held November 14-16 and will feature
Prof. Robert L. Reed teaching various levels and holding
his extremely popular "History/Footage" class, Dormeshia
Sumbry-Edwards will continue to inspire/demand/produce
technical precision while exhibiting style, grace and
femininity and M.A.D.D. Rhythms will round out the Summit
with fun, engaging classes of all levels and styles! More
guests and more than a few surprises are on their
way!!!!!.......Stay tuned..................

The M.A.D.D.Rhythms Tap Academy Fall Session began Monday,
Sept. 15 and runs through Saturday, Dec. 20. Registration
was extended through the first week of classes due to
overwhelming requests. Saturday, Sept. 27 is your last
chance to get registered. Don't miss out on some of the
greatest tap classes in the city!

The M.A.D.D. Rhythms Basement TAP Jam is now weekly. That's
right, due to popular demand and the ever-increasing need
to "WOOD SHED", we are getting our tap on every Friday,
from 7:30 - 9pm, including this Friday, Sept. 26. On
Saturday, Sept. 27, we will be performing at The 2nd Annual
Hyde Park Jazz Festival at 1:00pm on The Midway Plaisance
Stage. We will be sharing the bill with Detour JazFunk, so
you definitely don't Want to miss this one!

P.S. As always, the monthly newsletter may not always be
monthly but it will contain everything I want to share
about M.A.D.D. Rhythms, The Tap Academy, Tappin' @ The
Shore: The Basement Jam, The M.A.D.D. Rhythms' Junior
Corps., The TAP Boot Camps and The Chicago Tap Summit! I

The 2nd Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival
M.A.D.D. Rhythms and Detour JazFunk jazz the stage up at
1:00pm

The 2nd Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival on Saturday,
September 27, 2008 will bring together world-class
headliners and local emerging artists for 14 hours of FREE,
non-stop jazz for the serious and casual listener, alike.
Come experience how "... a single Chicago neighborhood
transformed itself into what Duke Ellington used to call
the city of jazz," according to Howard Reich, Chicago
Tribune.

Free performances will take place on the Midway Plaisance
and at Checkerboard Lounge, DuSable Museum, Experimental
Station, Hyde Park Art Center, International House, Little
Black Pearl, Oriental Institute Museum, Quadrangle Club,
Robie House, Rockefeller Chapel, and Smart Museum of Art.
2008 Festival Performers The Festival headliners are
world-class, award winning, respected authorities on jazz
and its culture. Performers include Reginald R. Robinson,
Nicole Mitchell, Robert Irving III, Ari Brown, Dee
Alexander, Fred Anderson, Grazyna Auguscik, Orbert Davis,
Willie Pickens, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, and many others.

The M.A.D.D. Rhythms "I LOVE TAP" TAP Jam

Last week's "Just Because" TAP Jam was off the chain! We
are back to being weekly with the jams so you might as well
start planning every Friday night to be with us.

Why?

Because we love the dance and we love any opportunity to
express ourselves with and through it! We still haven't had
any musicians show up, but we are eagerly anticipating
their arrival!
