Everything you need to know about us and what we are up to
Fall, Fall, Fall well, FALL is officially here and with
this wonderful season, students, of all ages, go back to school.
You will be happy to know that while they are learning to read and
write, many of them are also learning to tap. That's right, M.A.D.D.
Rhythms is proud to have programs running in several grammer and high
schools throughout the Chicagoland area!
Secondly, The M.A.D.D.Rhythms Fall Session begins Monday,
September
17 and runs through Saturday, December 22. Pre-Registration
will be
held from 6pm to 8pm, Sept. 10/from 6pm to 9pm, Sept.
12/from 6pm to
8pm, Sept. 14. Regular Registration will be held from 6pm
to 8pm,
Sept. 17/from 6pm to 9pm, Sept. 19/from 6pm to 8pm, Sept.
21 and 10am
to 4pm on Saturday, August 22nd. So, if you haven't
registered, yet,
this is your last chance to get you or your child involved.
The 3rd Annual Chicago Tap Summit is almost here and we
can't wait.
Professor Robert L. Reed is bringing his in depth knowledge
of the art
form along with his ridiculous footage collection,
Dormeshia
Sumbry-Edwards is bringing her super clean feet along with
her
feminine grace and style, Reggio is bringing Brownie, Mr.
Taps is
bringing the subway flavor and entertainment value and
M.A.D.D.
Rhythms is bringing the Chicago style of Hoofing to the
forefront.

weekly but it
will contain everything I want to share about M.A.D.D.

Tap Festival, Chicago's subway legend and tap mentor Mr.

"The Hoofer" McLaughlin and M.A.D.D Rhythms' own founder
and artistic
director Bril Barrett. Jumaane Taylor, Lee Howard, Starinah
Dixon and
Ja'Bowen Dixon round out the well-diversified faculty.
Chicago's explosive B-Boy crew, Stick & Move, All-female
dance group,
Flawless and hip hop super group, Hip Hop ConnXion,
represents the
positive Hip Hop movement.

Beginning
Basics, but with a more mature style.
12:00pm - 1:00pm Intermediate 101 taught by Jumaane $120

This class is for that tapdancer who knows a little
something and
wants to learn a little more.
1:00pm - 2:00pm Beginning Basics 1.5 taught by Jumaane $120
Ages 9 -
12 The beginner's class will contain warm-ups, floor
exercises and
combinations of both. Students will learn what tap is all
about.
2:00pm - 3:00pm Advanced taught by Bril $120 All Ages The
Advanced
class will contain everything that has been learned in
every other
class, so make sure you have been there first because we
are not
responsible for the confusion that may result if you
haven't.
3:00pm - 4:00pm Beginners 2 taught by Star $120 Ages 7- 12
This class
covers everything done in both beginner classes, but at a
faster pace.
Students will also begin to learn more complex
combinations.
M.A.D.D. Rhythms is pleased to announce our new rental
rates for our
rental space! Our studio can now be rented for $15 per hour
and $50
for 4 hours. This is the best deal in the city, so come
take
advantage. We have a sprung/wooden floor, mirrors, sound
system
compatible with cassette, cd and ipod/mp3 player. Slots are
going fast
so don't wait too long!
