The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang is a modern tap dance drama
about a former tap-dancing prodigy who can barely find the
energy to braid a few heads at her mother's beauty salon
until a handsome dance instructor and her mother's gambling
addiction jolt her in to reality. "Miss Thang" was written
and directed by local filmmaker, Stacie E. Hawkins, and
stars tap dance sensation Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards of Bring
N Da Noise, Bring N Da Funk. The film has screened in
festivals around the country and won Best Feature at the
International Black Film Festival of Nashville.
