On Saturday, September 30th, 2006 at 2pm, the public is invited to “A Salute to the Extraordinary Life of Miss Katherine Dunham.” “This special event will feature eight prominent dance companies, all with a unique connection to Miss Katherine Dunham” says producer, Dr. Glory Van Scott.
Join Miss Dunham’s daughter Marie-Christine Dunham Pratt, and nephew Kaye Dunham, as well as a host of other Dunham family members and friends, original Dunham Dancers, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the Charles Moore Dance Theater, the Dance Theatre Of Harlem, the Fred Benjamin Dance Company, the Joan Peters Dance Company, the Katherine Dunham Children’s Dance Workshop, the Louis Johnson Dance Theatre, and PHILADANCO in a celebration of Miss Dunham’s life through testimony and dance.
"A Salute to the Extraordinary Life of Miss Katherine Dunham” will be held at Symphony Space Theatre on Saturday, September 30th, 2006 at 2pm. Admission is free, on a first come, first serve basis.
